Howdy from Pinewood Pickers!

So by now, dear internet friends, you may have Liked my page on Facebook and be privy to my updates from the booth, and you may be wondering what the heck this is all about. Here goes. My name is Mary. I love old stuff. And weird stuff. Like my dad. Pinewood Pickers is a fancy name for my booth at Home Economics on Park. It’s a great little place chocked full of mid century, reclaimed, vintage goodness. Pinewood Pickers is a fancy name I came up with because Booth 322 doesn’t really have a ring to it.

Summer is typically a slow season in the vintage stores, which I didn’t know when I first rented my space in June. But it has been a really great time to figure out the market, what sells well and what doesn’t, and I have lots of projects lined up for August and September. Turns out it’s a little tricky to sand and paint and stain pieces with tiny people around. Who knew?

I plan to use the Pinewood Pickers blog to update you on what’s new in the booth, what I found on the thrift/yard sale circuit, and what goes into turning an item from the pits into something amazing. I’m a bit of a newbie at this. Two months of sales does not an expert make. So you may find me in a corner somewhere crying from time to time, but we’ll get through it and hopefully learn something. Or keep crying.
